Meta-Weather

Meta-weather are the emotions and energies that are going around on a global scale, and that affect everyone to some extend. It helps to be aware of the current meta-weather, so that you don't have to take sudden big waves of emotions or strong energies too personal. It helps to know it's not just you.

In general, when there is a "storm warning" for Meta-weather, these steps help:
* Drink a little extra water. It helps clear the system. A full glass or two of warm water drunk quickly helps best.
* Get a little extra rest. It takes your body energy to deal with strong emotion and energies.
* Do a little stretching every day. The body tends to get stiff from the tension.
* Go out and walk in the sun for a little bit every day. It helps clear and re-charge.

It also helps to remember the following:
* Don't take it personal. It's not you.
* Be gentle and understanding towards others as well as yourself. We're all feeling it and trying to deal, and it's not always easy, so people may be a little short-tempered. Play nice.
* Don't make important life decisions. You'll be making them based on something external, not what you really want.
* Stay grounded, stay centered, be as aware as possible so you don't get overwhelmed.
* Be patient. Meta-storms usually pass in a few days. Sit it out, it'll pass.

Christmas Difficulties //2011-12-18

Update: Angel has fixed the problem, there will still be some anxiety and panic in the air, and people will of course still be feeling their own Christmas-related feelings, but the resonance is gone and has been replaced with a more appropriate Christmas feeling. ***

Christmas is a difficult time for intuitives or anyone who feels a lot. There's a great amount of overwhelming emotion around, causing people to feel overly on edge, snappy, weepy or roundout depressed. Some people will have trouble getting out of the house, or even our of bed. This explanation may help you and the ones around you a little.

The time around Christmas triggers strong emotions for almost everyone. It is the time of the year with the highest suicide rates. You'll probably have memories of spending Christmas with relatives out of obligation, of days being cooped up with all these people forced to act jolly and merry and happy when you're not feeling it, or being put in very close proximity to everyone's personal quirks and annoyances. Days where a lot of relatives are gathered often bring out family feuds and tensions between members of the family. And although people try to keep up appearances, it's rarely easy, or pleasant.

Resonance
If you were just feeling your own emotions over Christmas, that'd be one thing. You are used to feeling your own emotions, at least to some extent, and even if they are a little strong you would probably manage. The difficulty with Christmas comes from a resonance between all those people feeling the same set of emotions. It is easy to pick up on people's emotions - think of your cat or dog knowing when you're sad - especially when they are strong. Around Christmas, a huge set of the worldwide population is feeling the exact same things, often very strongly, causing a big wave of these emotions to go around. Everyone who is a little sensitive will feel it. If you have any of these feelings yourself, now or from the past, you will resonate with this wave even stronger, and feel it more intensely. It can be quite challenging to get through this time of the year.

Concretely:
* It gets worst the week or so before Christmas.
* The strongest of it will be gone by the evening of December 25, the rest will taper off by the 28th.
* It's most intense in the evenings, gets easier by 23:00 and is mostly calm by 01:00 am. There is a peak in the morning when people wake up and don't want to face the day(s) ahead, usually it's less while they're at work.
* The last days before and during Christmas, when people are not working, it's stongest.

Emotions to watch for:
* Sadness, loneliness
* Depression, hopelessness, self-hatred
* Frustration, annoyance, short temper

What you can do:
It already helps a lot to know it's not you, it's the season. You don't have to take it personal - you don't have to think it's you who is suddenly so lonely or frustrated or sad (though of course you may have some of those feelings yourself). If you feel the set of emotions described above, and it lessens and worsens at the times mentioned, you can be fairly sure you're just feeling the Christmas resonance.

In addition, some simple pointers. Don't stay inside your home all day, even if it is tempting. Get at least half an hour or so of sunlight, if available, and a little exercise like walking outside. It helps. Drink some more (warm) water. Stay grounded, take an extra shower when you're feeling a lot. Don't make major life decisions.

Finally, breathe, take it easy. It'll be gone in a week.

TOP WEATHER UPDATE

December 29 2011: Rough Weather
There seems to be a lot of rough meta-weather today. Locally, we are experiencing lots of nausea and/or vomiting, belly cramps, dizziness and physical pain. It seems to go across the board, and although non-metas may not notice much of the effect, people seem to be having especially rough days today, looking tired and drawn.

Sleep a little extra, give your self a break, and remember that regardless of how much it hurts, you don't have to act from it or use it as an excuse to let go of your personal power.
