The Power of Music

Postby infinione » Tue Apr 13, 2010 5:57 pm

I really enjoy listening to music. I have experienced that music seems to have a really powerful effect on me. Music seems to have so much power to me. I could be in the worst mood but a good song will change that. I love going on long road trips for the very reason.... to really enjoy music while appreciating everything in the world. I found music multiplies the feelings of love and joy to a significant level. I think it's a good tool for spiritual awareness because music can trigger feelings and emotions to an immense level. One time I was at Folly Beach on a beautiful night and listened to a really good song and I had joy to such an immense level that I thought that I was going to die. I think music is so powerful. Tell if you agree with me? What are some awesome experiences you had because of music?

I really can't agree with you more here. :) This doesn't just happen when listening to music, but also when creating music as well (I've posted some of my music on here, if you're curious :) - http://www.elfpath.com/itsaʹs-composing-challenges%C7%83-d-t157.html). When I compose, I get swept away; I always compose by ear and just do what sounds and feels right, and thus a lot of my music has a lot of emotion behind it.

I think music is so powerful because it is really a representation of the simplest form of energy. Energy are waves, and waves are vibrations; music is sound, and sound is energy, which is also vibration, and thus we're hit with these wavelengths of different frequencies all at once (similar to how our own internal energies resonate). I think it's just the way the vibrations hit us that have the healing properties that they do, and if you go see a live concert/orchestra it is even more so, since you can physically feel the vibrations of the sound as well as hear them. :)
