Methods of running

Postby Sztormcia » Sat May 08, 2010 6:20 pm

The hardest part of Elfpath for me is dealing with any kind of emotion. Since my Intro course I gathered quite long list of ways of running from them. I want ot share them with you. Not for that you had more ideas how to avoide emotions rather for more ideas that you are doing that when it happens and stop that.
My list:

Anger/Fear:
-I'm not angry/ scared (all of us sometimes are)
-I can't find fear under my anger (you don't want to search)

Gutmuck dealing:
-I have too may issues... better stop at the beginning (you are scared to look at them - without moving them you don't go anywhere)
-I tried something but that didn't worked... (try something else)
-I found that but I can't feel that (vizualize situation, or dig into part of your gut with as many details as you an, be there for real)

Both:
-I don't have emotions (you don't want to look at them, be honest with yourself)
-I have no idea what my teachers are speaking to me (your subconsciousnes is running from issue, try to understand them till you do, ask many questions, don't give up, gcb, be honest with yourself)
-I found something but I've forgot what that was... (your subconsciousness work, write down things you find when they appear)
-Energy don't want to sit in my guts (teleport it there instead of slowly moving)
-There are thousands of thoughts that are distracting me (put them inside box and close it)
-I can't find it anymore... Maybe it's gone XD (It's still there, hidden deeply, you have to come back there, yeah I know you don't want to, but that don't change a thing)
-I can feel it only for few seconds (try it once and once again with every try it'll be easier, even if you don't see it at the beginning)

If you have any further ideas share them with us :)
I'll ad more soon too.

This list is AMAZING Sztormica~~~~

This helps to know that others go thru the same emotions and down the same "running trail's"... just knowing others have fought the same issues and came thru to the other side helps those of us going thru them....

Thanx for posting them...anxious to see more added...

That's a great list, Agna, thanks for making it, I'm sure people will find it very useful (and do add if you find more).

Here's some simple physical ways people use most often to run from things they don't want to face:
- I am tired now, I'll just go sleep first (you're getting close to something big so your subc is pulling out the big guns to knock you out)
- I need to go to the bathroom (I'll drop anything I'm doing to deal with this thing and hopefully forget about what I was working on)

Extreme ways people run from things we point out to them:
- My life is so busy, I have class/work/Responsibilities (the best way to avoid responsibility is to say you've got responsibilities)
- My mom/dad/kids/boss/cat/dog won't let me get online.
- I have computer problems.
- I need to deal with this on my own.
- You're wrong. I know you're usually right and I respect you, but in thie ONE THING that I don't want to hear, you're wrong, so I won't listen.
- You're evil/stupid/... When a teacher says something you dont like, you can look inside, agree with them and change (which is scary). If you dont want to, the only way to avoid looking like an idiot yourself is to convince yourself that your teacher is an idiot so you can think you are wise for not listening.
- I'm conveniently nowhere to be found for [x] amount of time. Poof. Aloof.

In all of these, they refuse to admit that they are running away. Then an hour/day/week/month later, they come back and say "So um. I was running, obviously. Done now. Hi." Seen it many times.

Hopefully this and Agna's list will help you realise when you're running and catch it before you waste too much of your own valuable time in this process.

Geez was my brain running last night. I was working on a block doing SWEET and I just couldn't keep my focus. My subconscious was trying to distract me with any and everything it could come up with. Look: a bird! But I wouldn't look. I'd just keep coming back. It was hard. I was really tired, I had (still have) a migraine, and it was really late. But I thought of this thread and kept taking my mind back to what I was doing. I figured that if there was that much of an attempt to distract me, I was on to something. ;)

Thanks guys!

Most of things I can think off have already appeared here, so I'll ad only few more.

- I earned for day off (remeber day on which you don't do a thing is day you have lost)
- My teacher can find my problems instead of me (start live on your own, it's you who see them the best)
- I'll pretend I'm doing someting (be aware that you are doing nothing, track results)
- I want to deal with my emotions but some part of me doesn't want to and doesn't let me (make that part of you which want bigger and louder, imagine that, visualize, hear...).

Possibly the most genius thread on the forum. Gonna save this onto my computer, think I'll be referring to it a lot during interm >.> Thanks so much for sharing Agna!

My mouth is so dry I need to go get something to drink, or I'm hungry let me go eat something first, mmm I'm craving sugar. (When I feel sometimes or get really close to something, sudden dryness in the mouth or hunger comes up--I know you get hungry and thirsty after you clear issue but this can happen during it too, and the hungry part is usually craving some kind of sugary treat or any other junk food.)
