When I read Angel's post on maturing into the B-phase a question popped up. I know I'm only a white belt and not even dealing with the A-phase or ST-zero yet, but I still find it interesting to read. Maybe someone could help me out?
Now, when does someone mature into the B-phase? Apparently not many people 'get there', so there must be something special that should happen before reaching it. I can understand how that might happen on the light side. Once you've made a solid commitment to your path and really mastered the light side of it, you can grow into the B-phase I suppose?
But how would someone reach the shadow side of the B-phase? People who walk this side are probably not very aware of what they're doing, if they had more awareness, they'd chose differently right? So what can make someone move from an A-phase shadow side to the even more destructive B-phase shadow side?

Re: Maturing into the B-phase
Question being if someone 'evil' can really be aware and powerful, in short?
Believe it or not, shadow side does not necessarily mean 'out of power' or not true to your 'self'. It can be your thing in this life to experience. To walk this shadow side, manipulate, want control, to reach out and take. Feel how it is, take your experiences and learn from it for the next ride
Now to go from one phase to the other, its not something sudden, its a progress mostly. Of growing more spiritually in touch with yourself, and having committed yourself to being that, regardless(because?) of struggles and things you may need to leave behind. You start changing, and maturing. As you grow older, spiritually, I can imagine you'll start recognising more traits of the B-phase as you go (maybe as issues, tho it seems to be an easier phase).
This can be done in a shadow state, purely by definition. But as with the Light side, neither in the Shadow are there even a handful of (known) people who got there. And in this time and age it simply doesn't fit anymore. The world is getting out of the dark age, so it's also leaving behind the shadow. Not to be naive though, because you can be sure that there will be people sticking to the shadow.. But you won't find any in most new age cultures, and you won't find any in Elfpath either. They simply don't belong. So rest assured, I don't think you'll come across such people any time soon.

Re: Maturing into the B-phase
Thank you Arthur. The first time I read your reply I didn't really *get* it so I didn't want to reply yet, but I just read over it again and I understand now. I saw shadow side as people who are passive and unaware of what they're doing. And if people are unaware, how can they fully commit to a (shadow) path and grow? But as you explained, this isn't necessarily the case. In that light I can see how someone who is fully committed to the shadow side can mature from an A-phase shadow into a B-phass shadow. So, thank you for clearing that up!
