Now let's start with some quick facts about me. As you may have guessed, lenihanfighter is not my real name.
I'm a girl (woman?) of almost 24 years old, I live and study in Maastricht (the Netherlands) and I'm a third-year student Japanese.
My hobbies/interests include quite a few things, such as writing, cross stitching/embroidery (I currently picked up a lovely book about ribbon embroidery and I can't wait to start on that), cooking, roleplaying, sewing, reading, languages and cultures, fantasy, swords... I've also done quite a bit of walking when I was younger, and I've decided to pick up that hobby again, where I want to try to walk in one year 500km. That, of course, spread out throughout the year.
Now back to my name... maybe some of you are wondering where I got my name from. Well, when I was sixteen years old, I did Irish dancing. Unfortunately, though, my teacher came from America and after one fun year, she returned back to America, which meant I couldn't continue dancing.
As a quick side note: I'd prefer to be called either lenihanfighter, lenihan or just Vreni (which is my real name), but please, please, please... don't abbreviate it to Leni? My grandmother is called Lenie, so whenever someone uses Leni, well... It feels like they mistake me for my grandmother. Which isn't very flattering. ^^;;
Anyway, back to a little more about me... I'm not exactly the most forward person. I wouldn't exactly call myself shy or very closed-off, but it's hard for me to just start talking to someone and make friends. So here actually kind of my plea: please be friends with me? ._.; Aside for two of you, you are already my friends. (And you know who you are.
I've had an interest in esoteric subjects since I was about... fourteen, I think? Maybe it was an age-thing, but I had this feeling that I was a bit lost in this life and felt that there had to be more in life than this somewhat cold and cynical world accepts. I had the feeling that there had to be things in life that could not be explained through science. And maybe from that came the childish wish that I wanted to do magic, just like how they did it on TV. But as childish as that wish may be, it led me to my first book about magic and to my surprise, I found a whole section with books dedicated to the more mysterious things in life. Unfortunately, I've somehow never found the time (or maybe even not the courage) to do anything with this interest of mine, so when Melanie asked if I would be interested in following a course on Elfpath, I thought 'Why not?' I'd read the flyer, I know I found that very interesting and that it certainly got my attention.
So here I am.
