*bows* I am enelya, a 25 year marine biology student living in the Netherlands. I'm a Star Wars fan, have alot of things that I like (nature, reading, martial arts, needlecraft, computerstuff, mechanical stuff ((as in cars, DIY, fixing broken equipment)), old computergames, music, diving) but don't really know anything about half of them, still working on that.

I came here to MAGI to get myself sorted out and find what powers or gifts lie within me. I have recently discovered my purpose in life, which is to be a guardian. Not sure to what though, but all will be revealed in time =).

What does it mean to be a guardian?

Without the comma, martial arts needlecraft sounds really fascinating!! I'll assume that they are separate interests, though. :D

What kind of needlecraft do you do, other than knitting (I already know about that one)? I dabble in all sorts - felt stuffies, freehand embroidery, silk embroidery, and many more.

Welcome to Elfpath, Enelya! Martial arts needlecraft must be hand-sewn outfits, armor or weapons, I would think. I used to do a lot of crocheting with the fine hooks and thread, till my eyesight got bad--and even though I have reading glasses I have forsaken needlework for digital artwork. I also used to love to do beaded embroidery--yes I mean sewing hundreds of tiny beads into a pretty pattern--I used to put them on all my blouses--around the sleeves or on the pockets, and on the back pockets and down the sides of my jeans. I have also made my own clothes when my sewing machine worked. It was fun to take pieces of several different patterns and combine them into something totally new--and when I got tired of that, I'd make my own darn patterns--I made my mother a few skirts (easy) and a couple of years in a row I made my kids Halloween costumes--one was an orange crayon, and I made a red cape for one and a black cape for the other. I've even made Tropical print shorts and shirts for GI Joes! (But we are talking of over 20 years ago!) And I'll shut up now! So what sorts of needlecraft do you do?

Welcome Enelya. I can't wait to find out how you will express your guardian purpose, it definitely sounds like you will be doing amazing things!

I can attest to Eneyla's knitting skills, she made me a pair of absolutely lovely wrist warmers xD

I love wrist warmers/fingerless gloves. I'm the poor circulation easily cold type, so I have several pair. I can't wear wool/angora/cashmere/etc, though - so I'm limited to cotton and synthetics. I'd dearly love a silk pair someday...

Ahum *fixes comma XD*.

Haha, yeah, they're meant to be separate. Most needlecraft I do is indeed knitting. I do some very simple crocheting as well (working on a dragon in filet crochet) and some cross stitch embroidery (at least I think that is what it's called :? ), but knitting takes the top.

Well, being a guardian mostly means guarding stuff I guess Whispers. Making sure that the thing that you are guarding is kept safe and well. So for as far as I've figured it out it's watching over, keeping baddies away, and fixing or healing up pieces that aren't working properly. Think of it as taking care of your garden. You watch over it, making sure it is well fed and has enough water so it can grow and be healthy, and keep the pests away from eating it. Though since I've been in the Advanced Course, things have been shaken up a bit. I still lean towards the Guardian purpose, but it's not that strong anymore. So I'll just have to see how that developes.
May the Force be with you.
