Does getting high on pot often aid your spiritual progress

Smoking pot is not something I don't do everyday but once in a while, especially during times where I feel like it could help aid good experiences I would like to experience. Recently I have been smoking pot more. I often wonder, does getting high help the majority of people in their spiritual progress more of does it hinder it. From what I've experienced, I feel like it does significantly, while other times i'm made to be tricked to feel like it is but it really isn't. I know a lot of people who have spiritually grown a lot who smoke almost everyday, while others who wouldn't get their hands even close to a beer. In your opinion, do you think being high on pot helps you spiritually grow more? Is it something you would recommend as a spiritual tool? I'm interested to hear people's opinion on this...especially high belts.
