Exercises Galore! xP

yup, exercises. plenty of em too. and theyre here for you to try. from on the moment you have a white belt, feel free to try out any and all of these, suggested by the IKAS group, and also the others, if they come up with any. we expect about 10-20 of em to be suggested here, all tried out and proven to work (at least by the members who suggested them xP).

NOTE:Please share any and all experiences you have with these exercises ^^

i might try to devide them in groups, by difficulty level, but most of em should be pretty standard ^^
also, ill try to add a discription. though theyre probably added by the other users as they post :) and others are pretty much self-explanatory XP

-Flame bending. theres a special thread for that one already, here: http://www.elfpath.com/pushing-the-flame-t125.html
(note that you can use any body part to bend that flame, not just hands. i use my right hand and my forehead to send energies)
-Water bending. Its harder than flame bending, since water is less energy based. I for one cant get it to work yet.
Basically its done the same way you'd bend flames. the water you bend should be the thinnest stream you can get out of your ordinary water tap. later on you could move on the a body of water (like in a bowl) to ripple it, if you feel like trying.
-The coconut game. Simple. You have three halves of a coconut (of course you can use any non-translucent object, like a cup) and a ball (or, again, any other object that fits). have someone mix them around for you, and sense out where the ball is. trick is not to guess, but trust on your intuition. you can do things like truth-scanning (is it this one? that one?) and find out. you could also try to sense the energy of the ball itself, or you could even use something like your own unique ability. who knows, you might have x-ray vision or something xP
-Number guessing. again, simple. have someone join you, and switch turns. one thinks of a number between whichever amount (0-10; 0-100;...), while the other one guesses it.
(if you really stink at it, you can cheat by saying 'seven'. proven to be the most often thought of number xP)
-Pyrotechnics. Coined by enelya when talking about my innate ability. i can heat up myt own body at will, and can heat up others from any distance (although its inaccurate. i tend to heat up rohaa when i try to heat up jacob for example).
others have shown that they too can do it. for now ive only seen magda doing it, warming up/cooling down her hands shortly after ive explained how i do it. Frankly though, i have no idea of how i do it, since its mostly a subconscious proces.
Anyway, i believe it goes a little like this:
- Focus a little, try to get a good sense of the cold/heat around you.
- Then, focus energy towards the body parts youd wish the heat up/cool down.
- Experiment XD
truly, i have no idea how to go on after step one ._. it just happens XD

Pyrotechnics sounds fun, Ill give it a shot.
Can I add one?
I got it out of a book.

VARIANT 1

- Take a deck of cards
- Think of a card (ace of spades or something)
- Shuffle the deck thoroughly. Make sure you have no rational idea where the card is.
- Cut the deck in half
- Feel out "is my card in this half, or that half."
- Discard the pile where the card is NOT. (Easy mode: go through the discarded pile to see if it really isn't there to give you confidence.)
- Take the pile you have left, cut it in half, repeat the process until you are eventually left with your card.

VARIANT 2

- Take a deck of cards
- Think of a card
- Shuffle the deck
- Take the top 10 or so cards.
- Feel out "is my card in the small pile?"
- If the answer is no, put it away and take the next 10 until you find your card.

I use pyrotechtics to warm myself when I'm cold or to relax tense muscles. It requires conscious effort though, I have to keep focusing.

After reading your excercise I decided to try making myself colder. It worked, it was much harder to make my skin warm again.

o: same here whispers. cooling down is harder to counter when youre done with it. at least for me (i naturally have freezing cold hands and even colder feet though, maybe thats why).
and for me the pyrotechnics requires conscious effort as well, so from the moment something else takes my attention, im done for.

im also practicing long distance now, and playing it on objects. maybe ill go try and freeze some water eventually

Might I add that I've done a little airbending myself? ^^ A bit of LoA is in there i'm sure, but i find air is much easier to use than fire as it has less resistance and doesn't have a strict location. Even now i can feel a breeze blow by even though it was fairly calm before. Here is what I do when i try to make wind:

1) Be outside where the air has a lot of room to move around. It can work inside too, but for you to actually feel it on your skin it needs to be moving fast enough, and for that you need room (aka outside)
2) Imagine the wind, even just thinking about it will help. I just imagine the general feeling, but a bunch of sense go into it. Such as hearing the wind blowing in the breeze, feeling the strength of it on my skin blowing things by, seeing the leaves blowign like wild men (i like strong wind), and smelling the scents that it occationally brings.
3) Await results XD Usually for me it comes instantaneously, but only when i'm centred do i ever get a strong wind. At the moment all i feel is a light breeze. If you want better results then be patient because you may be in an area where wind doesn't come fast enough, and make sure you are centred. Also find if you have a preference to air, it might help.
