We use Scan Levels to make it clear to any of our students how reliable their scans and those of their fellows can be considered to be. In the above chart, knock off 1 Scanning Level if the scan concerns yourself or something you are emotionally invested in.

Using Scan Levels

Without Scan Levels, it is easy to compare a White Belt's scan with a Black Belt's scan and consider both valid. They're not. It's the difference between a novice chess player saying "This is the best move" vs. a grandmaster saying "This is the best move." It doesn't matter if 100 notives say one thing, the grandmaster's experienced and skilled opinion is the more valid one.

Scan Levels depend on many different factors. This chart gives the maximum Scan Level that someone with a particular gift class and a particular belt level is able to give, if all circumstances are favourable. If someone is unsure about a scan they are giving, or they have more a vague hunch than an absolute certainty, they are encouraged to indicate a lower Scan Level.

It is entirely possible that someone does not get a clear scan on a situation, or that they are picking up on some of the details about it but not all. A Green Belt senser might technically be able to give a level 6 scan, but that does not mean that all their scans are level 6. They might do a quick scan and say "I've a feeling this is related to alcoholism, and I'd give that scan a level 3". In this case you trust them over a White Belt who gives you a lot of detail, but you would trust an Orange Belt senser more if they tell you "I scan it's related to someone older, and a power struggle between an older male and female, and I'd give that scan a level 4." Of course both the Green and Orange Belt may be correct in this case.

Quick Scan, Full Scan, Deep Scan

A quick scan is a scan that you do on the spot, like a truth scan, a body scan, etc.

A Full Scan requires taking a step back, dropping into a deeper alpha and looking at the problem from different vectors and through many layers. This technique isn't taught to students until approximately Orange Belt.

A Deep Scan requires actually laying down and spending a significant amount of time in alpha with a deep focus on the core and subtlties of the matter at hand. This is a very advanced skill that takes much focus, expertise and energy to perform.

What Determines Scan Reliability?

The scan of a young student who has just learned about Truthscanning last week is not the same as the scan of an experienced student with their heart online and over a year of scanning practise under their belt. Reliability of a scan depends on:

  • Base inborn sensitivity: Some people are simply born with more inate sensitivity than others, just like some people are born with a better singing voice or a head for math. If all other factors are equal, Sensers will outscan Sources and Shapers.

  • Technique and focus: A multi-vector scan will give much more useful results than a quick or surface scan in most cases. A deep scan, where you put yourself in an Alpha state and go digging for answers will give more detail and perspective than a full scan. The better someone's ability to focus while scanning, and the more they versed in the relevant techniques, the more you can trust their scan.

  • Experience: Someone's experience with scanning determines for a large part how well they can use their inborn sensitivity and the techniques they learned. Their experience with our process, the amount of inner chaos they cleared and the amount of new skillsets they have incorporated determine how accurate their readings will be.

  • Personal involvement: Any scan that you have a strong personal involvement in may be biased or hindered by blind spots. This does not mean that you cannot scan yourself or personal situations reliably. You can. It does mean that when you are scanning for yourself or someone or something you are emotionally invested in, you should deduct one Scan Level.

  • Environmental circumstances: It is easier to scan reliably if your surroundings are calm. If you in a very messy place, have people with strong emotions around you, are in a lot of chaos yourself, etc, your scan will be less accurate.

What Is Not Included

Teacher Level. If you want help with a problem, a good, trustworthy scan is very important, but it is not the only thing that is important. The skill of the other person in helping you matters at least as much. Usually when you are looking for a scan on a difficult matter, you yourself don't have (enough) clarity and may well be feeling a lot of strong emotion related to the subject. It helps enormously to have an experienced teacher to help you understand what the problem is, and give you specific steps in addressing it that will work for you. People with less teaching skill and experience will be less effective in helping you in such a case. In other cases, where you are only looking for clarity on a matter but don't need to do personal work on the matter, teacher level is not so important.

You can tell a teacher's level by looking at their teacher level, which on skype you can see by the number of stars behind their name.

NOTE: We are working on simiar charts for Sources and Shapers. Each of the classes has their own specific strong suits.
