Other Lives
From Elfi
QAndAngel for Moth group, by Angel (December 14, 2009)
Our MOTH group was really interested to learn about past lives. They wanted to know if there is a way to distinguish signs from a past life from the ones we get from our present life. That is, signs, hints, feelings, anything from the past life.

Other Lives
First, "past lives" is a clumsy term. You can go forward and find "future lives" easily enough, and many say you (the larger you) can have simultaneous lives. So instead, I call them "other lives". You can choose any term that works for you, as long as you all understand it.
Look for similarities
You understand what it means to "believe"?
A student: I think in this case it means to believe in the larger you, for instance. In metaintuitive things, and other lives, etc?
Another student:To hold something as true even though there is no physical proof?
Angel: Note this: *I* don't *want* you to believe anything I say. I have LOTS of experience and experiences, but my truths are only ok for me. You need to find your own. Ok? That said, I can give you some details, but instead, I'll give you an exercise. That way you don't have to "believe" me but can sense it for your selves. Have any of you experienced other lives? No?
The first step is that you need to find a consistent method or "protocol" for recalling other lives. That is, for doing it yourself, not having someone tell you.
1- Find a method that works consistently for recalling them. 2- Use it at least 3 times. Recall 3 other lives. 3- Study them closely. Take notes on them. Examine them. 4- Look for similarities.
You start looking for similarities between the "other life" experiences. I find that all past lives have a sense to them that my mind interprets as a "smell." When I "smell" that, I recognize it as an "other life". Now, when anyone talks to me, I recognize that "smell" and say "Hey, that has an other life connection!" Make sense?
I mean, if you start talking about a recent interest in, say, the color orange, I'll smell something and say "An other life where orange was important is trying to get your attention." Or if I start to feel a strong emotion in my own life and smell it, I know an other life is trying to get MY attention.
So, if you want an answer to your original question, I encourage you to go and remember at least 3 other lives and study them and share them with others.
A student: So that you can discover what the "smell" is? Or the sensation or whatever else you may experience with it?
Angel: Yes. it may not be a smell, though. I get mostly feelings in my work. A friend hears voices. Another feels textures. Another sees things.
A student: It could be a visual, audible, etc. thing, like with everything else, I suppose?
Angel: Yes. In fact, I often get a particular taste when someone is trying to manipulate or control me. I get a pain in my ribs when I'm working with someone who has sexual abuse in their past.... it can be many things. When you go through a few, you will find your own similarities.
How to recall
A student: I'm just wondering how you go about recalling the other lives?
Another student: Me too. I have no real questions regarding past lives - I simply need to learn to look around more in my dream. Which is hard because I don't have human thoughts in it =/ And I don't realize until I wake up.
Angel: Dreams are not the most efficient way to get to other life info.
A student: So are we supposed to find our own method of exploring other lives?
Angel: That's one way. When I did it the first time, I went to the library and found several books on recalling past lives. You could also look online... or you could ask your teacher.
Most of the meta- work is really simple. Not always easy, but simple. You could create a method and it'd probably work. But there are things that it helps to get from someone with experience. Doing something alone gives you an easier road that takes a long time. With a teacher, it's more work, but MUCH faster.
What to do when you find an other life
A student: I have a question... If you have future or "parrelel" lives, not just past ones, is it possible to influence them once you identify that 'other life tell', whatever it is? And is it worth it, or a bad idea?
Angel: Can you? Yes.
Another student:' /should you/
Angel: A friend's grandmother used to answer "should" questions with "Stop that! You're should'ing all over your self." How do you decide what's the appropriate action?
You scan it
Every time.
Every breath.
Every action.
Everything's possible and it's all "ok" at some level. But some will have consequences... Stealing may get you arrested. Sleeping with a friend's lover may lose a friend. Meddling in another life may cause some trouble.
You could avoid meddling at all...but that kind makes life pointless. I've helped a lot of people over the years. You could say I've meddled with all of them. Most are much happier for it.
Once, years ago... I was in San Francisco. A man next to me had his nose in a magazine and wasn't watching. He stepped in front of a car going very fast. I grabbed him by the belt and pulled him out of the road. Probably saved his life. I "meddled." It had consequences. The consequence was he lived. (And I didn't have to watch a bloody accident)
A student:' I always say such things aren't for you to decide. But you can decide to be a good person and value every person's life. That is, until they try to kill you - then you can hurt them in self-defense, of course.
Angel: I hear that... and it makes sense at a beginner level. Thing is, if you do this for long enough, you will eventually challenge yourself with a problem that this idea won't solve. You can never be certain that it's the right action, or that doing nothing is the right thing. That's why we say, "Do your best to SCAN it and trust that what happens will work out."
Same student: Hee, I've discovered that sometimes, doing nothing is worse than making a wrong choice. But either way, you're saying it's difficult to know if meddling or not meddling is good?
Angel: Exactly.
Same student: So the trick is just to have peace with your decision once you have made it. :)
Angel: Yes. Assume that, when you get to the end of this life and look back, that you will be content with your choices, if you've done your best at each decision.
How other lives affect us
A student: How do your other lives affect you? Is it just that feeling/smell when something comes up, or can there be more obvious things. like people having phobias from other lives and so on.
Angel: One expert says that everyone with asthma died of burning to death in another life. Once you remember that life and clear the stuck energy, the asthma goes away. Most of our BS dramas come from either early childhood stuff or other lives. Also, recalling other lives adds depth and udnerstanding to this one.
As a teen, I was a VERY devout religious person. When I left that, there was still a piece deep inside that said "you're going to hell!" (Like any loving god would do such a thing?) I remember a past life where I was a monk and had the same intense belief. Then I recalled one where I was Greek and believed in Zeus and Hera. I had EXACTLY the same intensity in my belief, but in a different god. Then I recalled an ancient one where I believed in some rock idol thing. I was the same, but the "god" was different. It showed me that I have a tendency toward strong devotion to ideals, but that it didn't have to be to a particular face of god.
A student: Did you recall lives where you don't have this devotion?
Angel: Sure. I was a slave several times, an assassin, a king's torturer. A very corrupt duke, a peasant, a school teacher, .... I recall probably hundreds of other lives.
Same student: But it's all "you" at birth, right? The same.. I don't know the word, essence? soul? Would you say it's just the events in those lives that makes you different, or is it something else?
Angel: Ever hear of "world of warcraft" online? Or D&D? Anything like that? In WoW, I can be a mischievous gnome, a noble elf, a stubborn dwarf... Me, the one playing is the same, but the character I play will be different. Living a life is a bit like a child playing dress-up.
Choosing our lives, and doing it right
A student: So you choose your life before you live it?
Angel: I think, and most of the 'experts' agree, that you pick exactly what you want to experience before you ever get in line.
Another student: Is it possible to accidentally pick the wrong one?
Angel: No. In that space between lives, things are much clearer. And at the end of every life where i've followed my path on to what's next, every single time, exactly the same thing happens.
Every time, once I "move on", I get to a place that's like a small waiting room. Table, couple of chairs. And I meet a person there. Someone who feels like a friend but I don't yet remember and they are very serious. They ask me, each time, two questions. First they ask, "What did you go to that life to experience?" And each time, I have given a single word, a simple thing. Maybe "family" or "love" or "isolation" or "pain" or "fun" ... and when I say it I *know* it's true. There are no lies in that place.
And the questioner asks, "Did you succeed?"
If I say yes, I get a big smile, and a welcome home... and we go on. The times I've said "No, I failed."... the questioner asks me if I think I should be punished. If i say no, again, the welcome home! If I say yes, I'm asked to pick the punishment. Every time I can recall, I've said, "No. I see where I failed. That's enough." And I get a big smile and maybe a hug... and we go "home" together.
A student: What is "home"? Can you recall that?
Angel: Yes and no. Yes, I recall it from a larger sense. But in the other life recall, it always gets too different there and I come back to consciousness.
Same student: And you never figured out who this other person was?
Angel: Different ones. Though often a single one comes. ?He is a dear friend and someone who has watched over me and worried about me while I was down in this dense realm. More a friend than a guardian entity. But when ?he takes a life I may watch over ?him and when I do, ?he looks out for me. Or if we take a trip together, other friends watch out for us.
A student: Do you think we all have such friends?
Angel: I know we do. That higher realm is such a place of love and awareness... We all have many connections/friends/loved ones there. And yes, we've shared lives ?he and I. Just as I've played "WoW" with friends.
Same student: Did you know while you were sharing?
Angel: No. In a life, you have to forget the bigger picture. It's one of the rules. But when you meet them, there is just something so familar about them. And if you do an "other life" recall, you will see people in that life and *know* with certainty who they are in this life. We tend to incarnate with a few people we know well, so they show up in life after life.
It's actually a LOT of fun. And it adds so much to this life to remember a few others. And you take things less serious when you remember this is just a "day trip" you're taking with friends.
A student: I have one last question if that's okay... Who are the experts in this field? I'm probably going to read up on this :)
Angel: For starters, you don't have much knowledge, so any info will probably help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppT5_tAUVUk is an example. But if you want experts, look for people who have regressed at least a few thousand people. For instance, look for a book called "Many lives, Many masters". Dr Brian Weiss is amazing. And check out http://www.youtube.com/user/theduderinok
He has recordings of interviews with lots of amazing people. Search through his stuff for "other life" info. Going from "one life only" to "many lives" awareness is one of the biggest steps you can take. It really opens you up to lots of new ideas, and takes much of the weight off you.
It's all different once you start to see how the pieces weave together. Once you find out it's not so serious, just something you go to experience and grow.
That said, have fun, enjoy, ... Play well together.
