Cultural exchange

Postby Rohaa » Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:52 pm

We had an interesting meeting today :) They're insisting we make a story of it and share it with others, so here you go.

*

I was working outdoors at my workplace today, when I saw and heard someone walk by. I didn't think much of it, there are workmen walking by all the time. But the second or third time, I realised there wasn't actually a physical person there. So I stopped, soft focussed, and looked around. In front of me was a person. At first, I thought it might be a ghost, but he wasn't. He was about human height, and dressed a bit like a woodsman with a mos green woolen tunic. He just stood there, watching, and when he saw I noticed him, said "What are you doing?"

So I explained a bit to him about science and why we do it, and that I was building ponds for fish to live in. "A bit like pets!" he said. Yeah, sure, a bit like pets. Do you guys have pets too?" He showed me his pet. It was about knee height and looked quite a lot like a white goat. Well ok. He explained that they have pets, and that the pets follow them around so they can learn from them. I asked where he lived, but he seemed confused so I showed him some pictures of a house. "Why would you live in one place, in a box?" He told me that they didn't live in one place, that they wandered around and slept by the side of a road or wherever they felt like it. They watched humans sometimes to study them and see what they did, almost like us going to the zoo or to the wild for a walk. Apparently, they saw Cas and me biking by earlier that morning, and got curious so they followed us. We mutually decided the shoveling I was doing was boring, so he showed me his goat instead - it nudged my hand and came up to my knee.

At this point, I called Cas who was working a space away and introduced her. She went "OMG THERE"S SOMETHING THERE!" The goat seemed to like her, the guy complained that she wasn't listening. : ) I noticed something higher up in the sky, which she also sensed. Huge wingspan, it looked a lot like a bird, but it had ?4 legs and scales. Very strange, but big and pretty. When we asked what it was, the guy said "Transportation". He asked if we wanted a demonstration. Sure! So he jumped on the dragonbird's back and flew around, doing loops. Cas decided to look out of the eyes of the bird thing to see what it saw, I jumped behind the guy on the bird's back and flew around. I could actually feel the wind in my hair and on my face when it went up steep, and felt the rough wooly texture of the guy's tunic under my hands and the scales of the bird thing under my legs. It felt very tactile and real.

There was another presence behind us all the sudden, distinctly female, long blue skirt. Said hi, and she rolled her eyes and said "Pfff, he's such a showoff." So the three of us had a conversation about boys. She wanted to know if boys with us are the same way, which... apparently not all that different. I asked her if boys play with trains there too. She didn't know what those were, but showed me a strange wooden contraption that apparently was a toy for children, but men kept playing with it. The guy did some loops in the air, and she said "See? Showoff!" I asked if he was hers, and she said "We are together." We watched him for a bit, and she commented "Isn't he handsome? : D" Aw. It seemed that she had followed him here to keep an eye on him and watch him. She didn't have a goat, but more something like a tiny green (but furry!) dragon. It kept snuggling up against Cas' back, she said it was very warm and toasty.

She asked about "household", so I showed her some pictures of ours. She thought it was very strange that we would live in one place, in boxes. She said she was gathering mushrooms. Sent her a ?picture of hallucinogenic mushrooms, with a question, but she said "No, not that kind. This kind. [picture]. The pets eat it, and we make soup of it." I tasted the soup... but not my thing. Very bitter tasting, with a hint of ear wax. She asked what our favourite food was, so Cas showed her a pineapple and the flavour of it. She thought it was toxic. "But sweet!" I showed her just warm water, which she seemed to approve of.

Eventually she took off, wandering away in the field behind us, saying "He'll follow eventually." So we thanked her for showing up and him for showing off, and told them it was great meeting them. As we walked back to our work, there was a small critter that felt a lot like one of their pets sitting on Cas' back, jumping around. When she stood up straight, it jumped on top of my head. Um. Hi! As the guy and his dragonbird took off, the pet thing ran after them, saying "Gotta go!"

Pictures to follow as soon as Cas takes a picture of the scetches I made and posts them. Even though they took off, they still helped me draw them right. He was very fussy that I draw his BOOTS. "No, they don't go like that. They're BOOTS. Very soft!" He also said she made his woolen tunic. Drawing her, I couldn't help but smile at how much she was showing off. "Get the skirt right!" Not one to talk about him and dragonbird, maybe : )

This was fun : ) We've known for a while that there is a whole meta-world out that that overlaps with our own physical world. There are people, roads, shops, and although sometimes, some of them will be aware that there is a physical world, usually they are as unaware of us as we are of them. It's great to find some who are aware of us and who are eager for a bit of cultural exchange : )

That is pretty astounding, and hard for me to grasp (voices going "Pfft that can't be real") - but, it feels true in my gut. Can't wait to see the sketches!

Just wondering, did the guy comment on you and Cas noticing them? Since they probably don't get much attention from humans x')

That's so cool! The dragon-like creatures really makes me excited. And makes me more excited and motivated to developing my sensing skill further. I really want to explore that side of the world :D

I'm looking forward to pictures as well. <3

It was like reading a fiction with some fantasy intermingled plus the fact that my guts say it's true. Omg! It's real, that's astounding and amazing if not also very motivating! How awesome would it be to see stuff like that with my 'own' eyes?! Oh em gee, thanks for sharing. ^_^

I cant wait for the day when I can see that^^ Will it be hard to focus on seeing the physical while viewing the metaphysical? Just curious, seems like you forgot all about the pond/trench-digging. <3 Love you Rohaa.

Had some interesting experiences with this today.
I found one animal/creature hanging about in my room, he didn't seem to notice me until I tried to talk to him. He was willing to pose for a drawing.
From the train I saw lights in the forest, like those prolonged-exposure photographs you often see of cars, where all the taillights blur together. This'll make a nice painting.
The room my exam was in (a weird room to begin with) seemed to be the same room both in this world and the other, in use as well, some different decorations... quite weird.
I also saw some kind of dragon/bird pass overhead really fast.

Wow. O_o

Is it possible that that world and this world will eventually merge?

Awesome experiences, Mel, I'd love to see your paintings. Till then, here are my scratches :) They came in colour, but I didn't have colour pencils. The interesting thing is that they kept talking to me as I was drawing (some 20 mins after we saw them), a bit like the cat talks to me in my head. They were helping me draw - this drawing style is very different from my usual, you can see it getting more pronounced in the 2nd and 3rd pic.

Luufie, we've been wondering that.

I feel like I seen the flying, dragon-bird, before like in a cartoon or something or in a dream maybe. It looked blueish/silver(light pink?) to me then maybe with a hint of purple/green. The rest def. looks like I seen them before too.

Luufie, we've been wondering that.

O good I thought I was the only one thinking about this along these lines. The idea has been up in my head, for as long as I can remember.

I want to see Mel's pictures too :D
