Here's the idea:
Recently we've started to figure out ways to combine and understand the powers of these three types of people. How to communicate, notice weaknesses, give constructive feedback and how to boost them, and so on.
Now, black on white is fancy and all, but nothing beats real experience. So this is where games come in. More accurately, RPG's.
... Whu?
---------
It makes sense if you think about it, for a number of reasons, RPG's relate closely to the meta:
- You learn how to hunt monsters as a team in real-time strategy gaming, and learn how to back your team up as good as you can. This happens because RPG's are amazing tools to provide the proper focus and imagination for any kind of energy work. Imagination is half the work because it gives you the visualisation to work with. You notice how to check your partner's health, what kind of boosts he has, or what illnesses. You can see what he's fighting, and so on.
- Games tend to make the Holy Child really happy. Holy Child is something we're teaching everyone recently to truly discover and understand, and an RPG would help a lot to help people get in touch with it.
- Last but def. not least, these games let you pick your own style, clothing, preferences and (!) your own class. These classes can relate really closely to the three types of people we've been talking about. Tanks, healers, warriors, wiz mages, what have you. It gives you a chance to play with energies that are natural to you, and to see what you can do with all that.
Now with those reasons (aside of it being BOTH a reason to plant yourself in front of a computer, yet also practice), how exactly do RPG's relate to the three types we have, and the people here in general?
------------------------------------------------------------
Well, check this game out: http://iris-forum.gpotato.com/ , as suggested by Angel. I personally love it.
(We considered WoW, of course, but it's costly. Iris has obvious connections to the meta, and is also free to play.)
- First of all, your archetype. Not everyone knows this one, which isn't a problem. Gives you more options to explore. But for those who know it, this should be obvious. With all the available classes, it should be easy to find something that matches that which matters to you. I mean, this game actually uses tarrot cards to define your skillset and abilities, so that's an easy match.
- Sensers, Shapers and Sourcers relate to the several classes in ways. A class is the primary adventuring style of a player character which determines the type of weapons and armor it can use, as well as what abilities, powers, skills, and spells it will gain throughout its adventures. To go with this, there are Three Races in the game suggested above. Below is a list adjusted to the three types, and you can see a more game-specific style here: http://mmohut.com/forums/35850-post36.html
--- You've got Humans: Humans are easily adaptable, strong and have expertise in the field of magic and technology. They are effective as Fighters or Mages. Mages deal massive, long-distance damage with their wide range of spells and can actually make the foes fear them as they approach. This is offset by the low defense and armor they usually have. They can work as big Shapers, but also fit the role of Sensers due to their 'wisdom' traits and sensitivity to enemy attacks.
Fighters tend to be a jack of all trades type; they can deal damage, boost their friends and often also heal. These fit Sourcers the most, but can work for the others as well. Extra practice for Sensers due to the experience you get in feeling out what the team needs.
--- There's also Hybrids: Half human, half animal. Because they are equipped with high physical strength and endurance, they became mighty Warriors or Rogues. Warriors are Shapers as well, but can both deal and take a lot of hits in close-range combat.
Rogues typically excel in close combat, so are natural Shapers. However, due to their keen insight in battle/poisons/lockpicking/travel they can also be considered Sensers.
--- And then we have the Elves. Elves are mystical creatures that possess towering intelligence. Their understanding and oneness with nature makes them powerful beings. They excel as Rangers or Shamans. Rangers are considered Shapers due to their focus on high Damage output, altho they avoid direct combat.
Shamans provide excellent experience for both Sensers and Shapers alike since they can adapt easily to what the team needs, be it Long-range Casting, Melee Damage, or Healing so Sensers can get a feel for what's needed in which case, and for Shapers it provides variety in tactics and style.
In short?
----------
The idea is that anyone interested in getting some Team experience, in a fun and challenging way, can join the suggested game. There are guilds, team quests, and also plenty solo quests to provide good insight on how you can work in the meta, not only on your own, but more importantly, how to be that one key person that can provide the necessary support to others.
If you want to join, I think it'd be best to give your profile name here so we can find eachother easily. If you're not sure what class to pick, you can ask here or on Skype, I'm sure there's plenty of people around.
